The Events Management Program is a one-year certificate program offered through Pierpont Community and Technical College. This is a non-traditional method of delivery meaning that a portion of these courses are available on-line and others can be taken on campus. This has proved to be a great option for those students who wish to add a certificate to a current degree of pursuit and for those non-traditional students wanting a more manageable option for furthering their education.  When graduating from this program students will be experienced in planning a multitude of different events. A list of potential events are listed below.

Charity events

Conferences & Meetings

Weddings

Casino Management

Parties, Parades, Fairs, and Tours

Fund raisers, Tournaments, and Festivals

Product & Service Promotions, Sporting events

Concerts, Media Campaigns, Exhibitions, & Trade Shows

Dinners, Holiday/Birthday/Engagement Celebrations, and More.

Tourism in the state of West Virginia is simply unmatched. There are new and upcoming resorts, places to getaway, relaxing lodges and hotels, and catering venues that are all employment options for graduates. Most students are able to complete this degree within a nine month period. Some students have paired this certificate with another related degree to be that much more marketable.

Those who are interested in obtaining more information about this degree are urged to visit Pierpont's website to gain more information regarding tuition, courses, and institution information.

For additional information we recommend that students visit www.Careerinfonet.org. Developed in conjunction with the Department of Labor, this website is able to give serious career seekers the ability to put an industry of interest into perspective as it relates to their personal career goals. The website details available positions, the average salary in your state, resumes and interview tools, and up-to-date industry information.
